Victoria Hoi An’s own Chef David Lacroix joined 19 other francophone chefs of Village de Chefs in an exceptional culinary demonstration at the French Embassy in Hanoi on 10 November 2015. It was the first ever culinary event of its style in the Vietnamese capital.
The 3rd edition of Village de Chefs took place in the elegant setting of the interior garden of the French Embassy in Hanoi with a Gala Dinner taking discerning diners on a culinary journey through different lands of the world.
Chefs from Asia, America and Europe showcased their specialties and cooking expertise using typical ingredients of the region where they are living and working. Earlier, the 20 francophone chefs from around the world visited the Hoa Sua Tourism School to meet students and exchange ideas and to choose two assistants each for the Gala Dinner. In addition to having the opportunity to cook alongside these talented chefs, the best performing student in the Gala Dinner was selected to participate in the 4th Edition of Village de Chefs, planned to take place in Benelux in 2017.
Throughout the evening, 300 guests explored the food village, enjoying the wonderful interaction between chefs and students and tasting different food flavours from around the world.
The Village de Chefs is a francophone association which aims to celebrate the tradition and passion of those working in the catering and culinary industry. All profits of the Gala Dinner went to the Hoa Sua school to help disadvantaged youth in the field of hotels, restaurants and tourism.
